What is a rental permit?

A rental permit is a permit that you as a landlord or property owner receive from the municipality.

This permit allows you to rent out a property. However, a landlord must behave as a "good landlord." The municipality can intervene or revoke the permit if the landlord misbehaves as a landlord. Not every municipality in the Netherlands issues rental permits, so it is not necessary to have a permit in possession when renting out houses.
